The following is sponsored by Simple Roots Wellness. I was provided The Simple Cleanse to test and review. As always, all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own!
I have been doing The Simple Cleanse for the past three weeks, and the changes in my body are quite noticeable and very positive. So what exactly is the Simple Cleanse from Simple Roots Wellness? Well Alexa does a great job explaining it her videos – be sure to go check them out for better detail at Simple Roots Wellness.
Essentially this is a 28 day cleanse and has been designed to support the naturally functioning pathways of the body, connecting what you eat to how you feel. This cleanse is not like the usual detoxes you might have come across in the past. There are no juices to drink or soups to live off of for days. No starvation or liquid only days. In fact, what really sold me on this cleanse was Alexa’s simple philosophy: Be well fed.
Although our body naturally detoxifies itself through the liver, sometimes our bodies can get overwhelmed by the amount of work it’s been put through with our day to day diets and environment. I have to be honest for a minute. Over the winter, I got stuck in a awful place of gaining weight and not being able to fall asleep until 2 am most nights. Honestly, I just didn’t feel like myself in my skin anymore. I didn’t want to take fitness pictures for the blog, it was really a terrible place to be mentally. Unfortunately, everything that I have done in the past to help me cut through those weight gaining cycles wasn’t working.
You see the downfall to knowing how to eat healthy is that although all the food I was consuming were “healthy” I was eating way too many of them. A lot of the times I wasn’t even hungry when I was eating. But I was tired all the time and food was my only fuel.
Needless to say, I knew I needed to do something to break these bad habits. When I found out about The Simple Cleanse it sounded like exactly what I needed. Once I watched her videos, everything Alexa talked about I could relate to. Feeling sluggish, tired, carrying around weight that I just couldn’t get rid of. Like I said before, I love Alexa’s philosophy of being well fed. I honestly was like “excuse me, well fed and I might lose weight this is amazing!
So I told Dave and
made asked him to hold me accountable to this cleanse, and I decided to take the plunge. This wasn’t easy, I chose the level where I had to cut out coffee eeek!! I have been drinking coffee regularly since I was 19 years old so had quite a challenge for me. But don’t worry, it’s not necessary that you cut out coffee if you are wanting to do the plan. There are three levels of the cleanse that you can choose from.
About three days into the cleanse I knew I was doing the right thing. I was no longer bloated and I was actually feeling amazing (once I got past the caffeine withdrawal) Another plus is that it really challenged me to be more creative in the kitchen.
Through the Simple Cleanse, I have learned quite a few things about my body. I can say for the first time I am not afraid to eat fat. That’s right I’m eating a boatload of fat and I am losing weight! I fit into my clothes so much better now. I don’t go to the gym with a big swollen belly of food and carbs and feeling self-conscious. You better believe I’m gonna be rocking that bikini this year all thanks to Alexa!
If you are interested in doing the Simple Cleanse, Alexis is actually going to have another session that will start right after Memorial Day. You can sign up here. If you feel sluggish, have headaches, can’t seem to lose weight no matter what you do, you may want to try the Simple Cleanse. The experience was priceless for me.
There is a Facebook group to help with recipes or any other kind of questions you may have. Alexa is really a great resource, she is so helpful answering any questions that you have and also sends daily emails with prompts to help you stay on track with your cleanse and new recipe ideas. That’s right she doesn’t leave you hanging, this cleanse has everything you need! It’s got recipes to help you figure out what to eat, it’s got a Facebook group with interactive people who are happy to give suggestions or share recipes that they love. And the best thing is is once you have access to the cleanse you have it for life.
